COALFIELD: it's a pun. In Chinese, the word for coalfield (煤田) is pronounced 'meitian,' as is the word for every day （每天).* That's about as far as I can go in explanation--I liked the ring of it, and now it's my blog title.

ME: I'm a student.












*actually, due to tonal differences between the two phrases, to say they sound the same isn't really true. anyone with any understanding of the language would be able to pick one or the other out of a line-up. but similar, certainly.
